Adding Fuel to the Flame

The feud between Taco Bell and McDonalds is a tale as old as time.

Ever since Taco Bell launched their breakfast menu, McDonalds has been doing whatever they can to stay relevant in the breakfast game and they don’t hold back when it comes to calling out who their competitor is.

Last month Taco Bell premiered an amazing propaganda-like marketing campaign. If you pay attention to the small details, it’s no secret whom their protagonists are rebelling against.

On top of this, a few lucky Taco Ballers were selected to receive Breakfast Defector military-style boxes filled with amazing gifts.

Not to brag, but I came home one night to find this mysterious box waiting outside my door:

Of course, it didn’t take long for McDonalds to retaliate. Some restaurants in Pennsylvania have offered free Egg McMuffins in exchange for Taco Bell receipts. There are no reports of any other states participating as well but I’m sure it won’t be long until McDonalds comes up with some new idea.
